We are extremely happy with the way our site turned out - we love to show it off! We have now used the image as part of our designs for brochures and menu

Taking fine dining into the digital age

the challenge
Izumi is one of Dhaka’s finest restaurants, specialising in traditional Japanese cuisine of the highest standard.

The management at Izumi were looking for a website that positively reflected the beautiful setting of the restaurant itself, showcased the quality of their food and importantly, embodied the premium nature of the Izumi brand. Naturally, they also wanted the site to be able to provide visitors with menus and all contact details.

our approach
We went back to basics on this one. We spent time at the restaurant itself absorbing the environment and buzz - our simple goal was to capture this online. The G&R strategy was to build a clean site with a minimalistic feel. We looked to integrate very clear, user-friendly navigation across the 3 core pages of the sites.

In order to ensure site visitors found exactly what they were looking for, we created access to the map and downloadable menus from each page. Google Analytics was implemented to measure and optimise site performance.

Another area was encouraging engagement. We did this by integrating the site with user communities on social network, Facebook and local community site, GoromCha.

the results
  • The completed site received rave reviews from Izumi patrons and encouraged greater interaction on Facebook - resulting in a very happy client.
  • All guests calling the restaurant looking for a menu or information on the restaurant are now pointed in the direction of the website thus increasing efficiency in the reservation desk.
  • The look and feel of the website now forms the platform of most design work initiated by Izumi.
